GR8 to DON8 is east-Central Florida’s premier organ and tissue donation awareness event. This unique 8k run and 5k walk/run allows the running community and the donation/transplantation community to come together in support of one great cause to celebrate those who have received the Gift of Life and to honor those who have given the Gift of Life through organ, eye and tissue donation—as well as to educate our community about the importance one “yes” makes. Every year, thousands of lives are saved due to the generosity of organ donors. Susan Perkins was one of them. In honor of the second chances, she and all donors make possible the Susan Perkins Fund was established. The fund supports initiatives that contribute to the donor family and community education, including donor family workshops, and initiatives designed to motivate donor registration.
